This study investigates the impact of management accounting innovations (MAIs) on firm performance, emphasizing the role of institutional and market forces in shaping these innovations. By conducting a systematic literature review (SLR), we synthesize findings from previous studies on MAIs and their correlation with firm performance. This method enables us to critically evaluate existing literature and identify gaps for future research. The study highlights the importance of aligning MAI strategies with external pressures to achieve optimal outcomes and contributes to the understanding of how external forces shape managerial accounting practices and firm success.
