Fowlers Bay Whale Interpretation Area

The project will provide an area where tourists & local community members will observe whales that visit the bay regularly each year. The area will include interpretive signage & displays, telescopes, a platform area, bollards to protect the area and whale art to enhance its appearance. Fowlers Bay needs to record its whaling history & provide an area where tourists & locals can understand the importance the town plays in Whale breeding and migration. Each year Fowlers Bay lights up with the presence of the Southern Right Whale. Fowlers Bay provides the perfect temperature, and undisturbed protection that mothers need and in spring, they are ready for their long journey with their mothers guidance back to the sub-Antarctic feeding grounds
