Does Immigration Shape Europe's Industrial Composition? Origin, Gender and Structural Transformation across Economic Sectors

This repository contains the dataset, Python code, estimation routines, diagnostic tests, robustness checks, and complete regression outputs supporting the study “Does Immigration Shape Europe’s Industrial Composition? Origin, Gender and Structural Transformation across Economic Sectors”. The study examines whether immigration shapes the industrial composition of European economies over the period 2005–2024. It analyses sectoral Gross Value Added (GVA) across major NACE sectors, both in absolute values and as percentage shares of total GVA. The empirical framework applies Two-Way Fixed Effects models with country and year effects, lagged immigration variables, and Driscoll–Kraay robust standard errors. The repository includes the harmonized macro-panel dataset, Python scripts used for data preparation and econometric estimation, full regression tables, diagnostic outputs, robustness specifications, and supplementary material. The empirical analysis distinguishes between total immigration, gender composition, Non-EU migrant presence, non-native population structure, and lower-GDP-per-capita economy interactions. The material is provided to ensure transparency, replicability, and reproducibility of the empirical results reported in the paper.
