Performance Metrics for a Set-Oriented DBMS Model and System Parameters Analysis for Oracle

The component files select_results_set_database and datafile_results_set_database demonstrate the linear correlation between the number of entries and the response time of SELECT queries for a serialized set data structure, stored in a binary datafile. A Python3 script, sql-benchmark.py, has also been included, which queries the Oracle view V$SYSSTAT to retrieve system parameters for testing eight SELECT and MERGE commands. The binary datafile represents the internal level of a proposed set-oriented store, which enforces strict set-theoretic semantics.
