N.B.: Each regression is controlled for gender, age, marital and professional status and educational level. ORs in bold are significant at 0.05 level. The reference category for predictive variables is “No use” for illicit drugs or “Non-problematic use”, i.e. CAGE (cut-down annoyed guilty eye-opener) negative for alcohol. Data from the 13,015 respondents aged 45–64 were not analysed because of very low illicit drug use levels. OR: odds-ratio; CI: confidence interval.
