SHBS Benchmark Data is recommended by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to help system designers understand the differences in configuration options between two stateful hash-based signature algorithms, XMSS and LMS. This dataset includes performance benchmark data under multiple parameter configurations of these two algorithms, such as the number of signatures, signature size, public key size, verification time, and other related metrics. The dataset was created to assist system designers in conducting relative performance comparisons when selecting SHBS parameter options, and to cater to application scenarios facing potential quantum computing threats in the future.
