Bulk rock data for Cleveland volcano

Abstract: We present data for 10 bulk rock samples from Cleveland volcano. The samples were collected during joint GeoPRISMS-DCO-AVO field campaigns in 2015 and 2016 (PIs: Roman, Plank, Hauri). The samples crushed in plastic ziploc bags using a hammer. The samples were cleaned with deionized water, and 1-10 mm fragments were powdered in a alumina-ceramic ball mill. Rock digestion followed the procedure of Kelley et al. (2003). Major element analyses followed the methods of Wade et al. (2005). SiO2 is calculated by difference, and the data published here include LOI in the calculation. The orginally published data do not include the LOI correction. For 8 of the 10 samples, we do not have LOI data. So, we assumed an LOI of 1.5 wt% (based on the average of a large number of samples with LOI). The objectives of the work are to understand volcanic processes at Cleveland volcano and along-arc geochemical trends in the Aleutians.
