The Ecology of Sminthurus Viridis(l.) (Collembola) 1952-1961 Processes Influencing Numbers In Pastures in Western Australia

The changes in the population of Sminthurus Viridis in pastures in Western Australia were observed for 9 years and for shorter periods in other sites. Population curves during the active season (normally April or May-October in both hemispheres) varied despite the apparent uniformity in the environment. This data described quantitatively the changes in numbers observed and the main factors for these changes, which include: weather, soil, food, predators, and behavioural aspects.
