EVALUATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE TECTONIC STRUCTURE OF GAS FIELDS AND THEIR HYDROGEOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS

This article analyzes the tectonic structure of gas fields and its influence on the process of water breakthrough in gas wells. As a result of tectonic disturbances, faults, and displacement of layers, the direction of water movement in gas reservoirs may change. Consequently, the productivity of gas wells decreases and various problems occur during the extraction process. During the research, tectonic factors, the dynamics of the gas–water contact, and the process of water appearance in wells were studied.
