Using the original Calcium hydroxide molecule synthesized in situ at the edge of the graphite layer and the power of ball milling, the low-cost mass production method of preparing snack size Graphene was realized. By means of Scanning electron microscope analysis, XPS, Raman, infrared spectrum and particle size analysis of the data, it was confirmed that the prepared Graphene has thin layers, relatively uniform size, and particle size is basically less than 1 μ m. In addition, this method has little damage to the internal structure of Graphene sheet, and there is almost no oxygen-containing functional group in the plane, so some basic physical properties of Graphene have not been damaged. For small size Graphene, lubricating oil additives were applied, and edge modification and grafting were carried out to make it have better dispersion stability in lubricating oil. Dispersion stability test and friction resistance test (four ball machine test) were carried out for small size Graphene. It was confirmed that adding small size Graphene in finished lubricating oil can reduce friction coefficient by more than 27% and reduce wear by more than 38.8%.
