Genetic Diversity of Biomphalaria pfeifferi collected from different localities in Gezira State, Sudan

Accurate identification of Biomphalaria snail species in an endemic area such as Gezira State would facilitate the development of appropriate snail control strategies. It is important to not only identify the present snail species in the area, but also study their genetic structure as it significantly influences their susceptibility to schistosome infection and the spread of diseases. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the genetic diversity and understand the phylogenetic relationships among Biomphalaria sp. collected from different localities in Gezira State, Sudan.
