Edge effects in MPAs

The dataset is extracted from 24 empirical studies reporting spatially explicit data for fish or invertebrate population size estimates with respect to distance from MPA borders The aim of this study is to describe the dominant spatial pattern of marine populations across MPA borders and to explore potential drivers of these patterns using GAMs (General Additive Models) The dataset contains 1,619 data points that belong to 147 unique samples, representing 72 taxa. This dataset represents fish and invertebrate population size estimates across the borders of 27 MPAs located in 14 countries
