Welding Quality for Sustainable Storage Tank Construction

Welding quality is critical for ensuring the structural integrity and long-term reliability of industrial infrastructure such as storage tanks. However, welding defects frequently cause rework, material waste, additional energy consumption, and project delays, which negatively affect manufacturing efficiency and environmental sustainability. This study investigates the improvement of welding quality in storage tank construction through the integration of Quality Control Circle (QCC) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Inspection data obtained from non-destructive testing during a storage tank construction project were analyzed to identify dominant welding defects.
