Die sozialgeschichtliche Patientengeschichtsschreibung gehört zum Kanon des psychiatriegeschichtlichen Wissens. Im englischsprachigen Raum existiert eine deutlichere Tradition der psychiatrischen Patientengeschichtsschreibung (z.B. durch Roy Porter) als im deutschsprachigen Raum. Der Artikel untersucht den Stand der deutschsprachigen Forschung zur psychiatrischen Patientengeschichte und resümiert die neuere Literatur sowie entsprechende Forschungsprojekte. The social history of patients and the personal accounts of the patients belong to the canon of our knowledge regarding history of psychiatry, mental illness and psychiatric therapy. There is a distinct tradition of historic research on social history of psychiatric patients in the englisch-speaking world (e.g. by Roy Porter). This article examines the state of the art of the german-speaking research on that subject and resumes the recent literature and research projects. unknown unknown
