Greenhouse grapevine assay to test the biostimulant and fungicidal capacity of an extract of Rugulopteryx okamurae

In this study, we employed 16S rRNA and ITS amplicon sequencing to characterize how the soil microbial bacterial and fungal communities responded to the foliar application of a Rugulopteryx okamurae extract in two grapevine clones, compared to water and copper treatments under greenhouse conditions. In addition to the analysis of the microbial communities, the physicochemical properties of the soil, such as pH, NPK content and fresh/dry weight ratio, were also analysed. Inoculation with the Plasmopara viticola pathogen was performed to determine the effect of each treatment and assess the disease's impact on the subsoil ecosystem.
