Dataset contains the results present in the paper "Ultrafast Neuromorphic Photonic Image Processing with a VCSEL Neuron". This work uses photonic VCSEL neurons to reveal edge information in digital images. We make use of the integrate-and-fire functionality of the neurmorphic devices to perform edge detection with less preprocessing requirements. We combine our photonic hardware with a software-implemented spiking neural network for classification of MNIST handwritted digits.
