Genome sequences of Listeria monocytogenes strain SC14

Listeria monocytogenes is a foodborne pathogen found in food and the environment. Its ability to multiply under refrigeration and in high-salt conditions is a major concern for food poisoning in dairy and ready-to-eat foods, necessitating attention in Japan due to numerous reported cases in Europe and the US. This study investigated the contamination status of L. monocytogenes in the food products and examined characteristics of several wild-type isolates. Among the isolated, the genome sequence of strain SC14 isolated from spicy pollack roe was determined.
