This dataset is derived from the comparative evaluation of the currently widely used Goda spectrum, Elfouhaily spectrum, and the Combined spectrum proposed in the dataset-related paper, based on the L2-level observation data of the Surface Waves Investigation and Monitoring (SWIM) spectrometer aboard the China-France Oceanography Satellite (CFOSAT) in 2022.The energy-wavenumber distribution of the one-dimensional wave spectrum obtained from the SWIM spectrometer L2-level products serves as the reference. Meanwhile, the sea state data (including wind speed, significant wave height, inverse wave age, and wave steepness) from the products are used as inputs for the three aforementioned theoretical wave spectrum models, generating the theoretical energy-wavenumber distribution data of the one-dimensional wave spectrum. Two metrics—goodness of fit and difference index—are employed to conduct comparative evaluation on the three theoretical distributions.The resulting data are stored in three files: G.csv (for Goda spectrum), E.csv (for Elfouhaily spectrum), and M.csv (for Combined spectrum). Each .csv file contains multiple data columns, where "di_s", "di_h", and "di_c" represent the difference index results of the one-dimensional wave spectrum in three different forms (slope spectrum, height spectrum, and curvature spectrum), while "r2_s", "r2_h", and "r2_c" denote the goodness of fit results of the one-dimensional wave spectrum in the three aforementioned forms. "swh", "iwage", and "stp" are the corresponding sea state parameters, referring to significant wave height, inverse wave age, and wave steepness respectively. "lat", "lon", "fn", and "box" are used to trace the sample source: "lat" and "lon" represent latitude and longitude respectively; "fn" is the file name of the SWIM spectrometer L2-level product from which the sample is derived; and "box" is the box number of the sample source within the product file name. Relevant codes for plotting the results of goodness of fit and difference index are stored in the "Code" directory attached to the dataset.The paper associated with this dataset details the formulas for the Goda spectrum, Elfouhaily spectrum, and joint spectrum, and presents the parameter fitting process for the joint spectrum. The Combined spectrum was fitted using the 2021 L2-level observation data from the SWIM spectrometer, and the relevant source data can be accessed at: https://www.aviso.altimetry.fr/en/home.html
