AgriConnect Indicators

AgriConnect is a new World Bank Group (WBG) initiative that prioritizes farming and agribusiness as a driver of jobs and economic growth. Together with our partners, we aim to improve the lives and opportunities of 300 million farmers, thus catalyzing economic growth and advancing global food security. AgriConnect links policy reforms, public and private financing, and investments in physical and digital infrastructure to create more and better jobs and achieve inclusive rural and agribusiness transformation. AgriConnect centers on supporting smallholder farmers– and the enterprises, processors, and traders who connect them - to help them go from growing food to growing businesses. AgriConnect’s strategic framework includes three core pillars, with social inclusion as a key principle across them: Strengthening Foundations; Revamping Policies; and Capital Mobilization. To address the challenges faced by smallholders, AgriConnect will tackle market, infrastructure, finance, and knowledge gaps through six scalable solutions aligned with its strategic framework: Aggregation of Producers and their Cooperatives; AgTech Solutions; Physical infrastructure; Upgrading Skills, Extension, and Research; Building the Financial Ecosystem for Farmers; and Policy Reforms.
