Suburban Cook Election Precincts 2001

Please note, the spatial reference of the 2001 precincts is corrupted and does not line up well with the rest of Cook County's data. The 2001 election precinct feature class interprets the location and describes the boundaries of all election precincts in suburban townships in Cook County, Illinois. Suburban Cook County includes all municipalities except Chicago. A precinct, which is also called an election district, is an administrative unit for the election department to distribute election materials and resources, conduct elections, and to report election results. Each precinct has a specific polling place where its residents go to vote. Sometimes several precincts will use the same polling place
