Data used in the study "Minimizing aviation lighting duration reduces bat attraction to wind turbines" (Larnoy et al., 2025). ID = ID attributed to the observation (i.e., one site sampled one night); site = ID attributed to the sampling site; night = date of the sampling (DD/MM/YYYY); data = sampling in open habitats at the base of the turbines (OH-10m) or at wooded edges between 150 and 300 meters from the nearest wind turbine (WH-250m); triplet = ID attributed to the triplet (three sampling sites monitored simulateously with minimized variations in surrounding landscape and wind turbine characteristics); WT_lighting_modality = sampling site near a wind turbine illuminated throughout the night (Constant_WT), near a wind turbine partially illuminated (ADLS_WT) or without a wind turbine within a radius of 2 km (control); SM4 = ID attributed to the recorder; wind_farm = ID attributed to the studied wind farm; ID_nearest_WT = ID attributed to the nearest wind turbine; Field 10 to 105 = Number of bat passes for each taxon and guild (_tot suffix = all bat passes, _05 suffix = only bat passes with a automatic identification confidence score > 0.5, _09 suffix = only bat passes with a automatic identification confidence score > 0.9); Field 106 to 138 = Proportion (in %) of habitat type (arable_land, forest, grasslands, water, urban), length of hedgerows or forest edge (hedgerow_length or forest_edge_length), density of hedgerows or forest edge (hedgerow_length_density or forest_edge_density) and number of total wind turbines or wind turbine illuminated throughout the night (WT or constant_WT), computed in a buffer around the site (_200 suffix = 200m radius buffer, _500 suffix = 500m radius buffer, _1000 suffix = 1000m radius buffer); Field 139 to 147 = Distance (in meters) to the nearest landscape feature or habitat type.
