A dataset of ski resort suitability in China

This repository contains the dataset and source code supporting the findings of the manuscript titled "Suitability of Chinese ski resorts: present and future". The dataset provides a comprehensive assessment of ski resort suitability across China, integrating geospatial distribution data, historical environmental observations, and future climate projections. Repository Structure and Content: The repository is organized into four main folders corresponding to the analysis workflow: occurencedata : Contains the geospatial distribution data of ski resorts in China (occurrence records) used for the suitability modeling. Environ_variables : Includes the current/historical environmental variables used as predictors in the model. Key environmental indicators (e.g., temperature, precipitation, snow cover duration, topography) affecting ski suitability. futuredata: Projected environmental data under different future climate change scenarios (e.g., SSPs/RCPs) used to predict future ski resort suitability. model code : Source code and scripts used for data preprocessing, suitability modeling, and result visualization.
