Public Opinion Barometer, 1998.07

In 1998-1999, the Public Opinion Barometer was renamed as “Human resources barometer”. Surveys collected in July 1998, by CURS SA. Board: Ionica Berevoescu, Bogdan Juncu, Andra Lăzăroiu, Sebastian Lăzăroiu, Manuela Stănculescu (all PhD students in sociology, University of Bucharest); Dan Chiribucă, Mircea Comșa (both PhD Students, Babeș-Bolyai University Cluj); Roxana Florescu , Narcisa Grigorescu (affiliated to Transylvania University of Brașov, and PhD students in University of Bucharest). Programme Director: Ionel David. Press releases from 1998 were retrieved by Ovidiu Voicu and are provided as .ppt and .doc files. Database was partly curated by Bogdan Voicu, in 2001. ************************************* Datasets are provided in three formats: .zsav, .sav, .dta. SPSS and Stata (14+) could be used to read the data. For R, we recommend using packages RcmdrMisc (function readSPSS) and readstata13 in order to import databases. Labels are provided for the moment only in Romanian language. No weighting system is provided, for the simple reason that in all cases there is no need for weighting (all weights should be equal to 1).
