EGR1-Associated Inflammatory Activation as a Potential Mechanism Linking Migraine to Ischemic Stroke Risk

In this study, we performed an integrative analysis of peripheral blood transcriptomic datasets from patients with ischemic stroke and migraine to identify shared differentially expressed genes (DEGs). Functional enrichment analyses were conducted to explore common biological pathways. To further validate the findings, we analyzed transcriptomic data from a mouse migraine model and assessed the cellular distribution of key genes. Additionally, blood–brain barrier (BBB) integrity was evaluated by immunofluorescence staining of the tight junction protein ZO-1 in mouse brain sections.
