A beautifully carved benchmark on a random rock next to the Rail Trail footpath at Grosmont NZ 82814 05040. Seems incongruous as it is not near any buildings, but it sits on the hill above the railway tunnels between Grosmont Station and the Goods Sheds, so was perhaps used for surveying these in the 19th century.
