应用林学、生物学、生态学、森林培育学、森林经理学、旅游学、经济学、民族文化学、木材学、分子生物学等理论和方法,系统研究了云南竹亚科种质资源及大型丛生竹开发利用,研究成果主要包括云南竹亚科分类与分布及其区系地理特征、竹类多样性及珍稀特有种质资源评价收集和保存、重要经济竹种研究利用及示范推广、竹材虫蛀和霉腐危害及其综合防护技术、重要竹种种质资源及遗传多样性RAPD研究、竹子重要性状功能基因工程研究等内容。1.原创性和持久性:首次对云南竹亚科物种和大型丛生竹开发利用进行全面调查研究,研究历时60余年,跨越两个世纪,云南竹类研究的开拓者和奠基人、著名竹类学家薛纪如教授开创了本项研究工作,先后由4代竹类植物研究者合作完成,并有研究工作者为此项工作付出了宝贵的生命。2.综合性和全面性:本项研究应用林学、生物学、生态学、森林培育学、森林经理学、旅游学、经济学、民族文化学、木材学、分子生物学等多学科理论和方法,从基因、分子、个体、种群、群落、生态系统、景观、文化等多方面进行研究,系统全面地掌握竹亚科物种的基础信息和部分竹种的保护及利用方法。3.领先性和实用性:本项目的研究把丛生竹研究水平提高到国际领先地位,跨越性地缩小了丛生竹与散生竹之间研究水平的差距。对大型丛生竹开发利用的研究,极大地带动了当地经济发展,为农民增收提供技术保障。
This study systematically investigated the germplasm resources of Bambusoideae in Yunnan Province and the development and utilization of large clumping bamboos, adopting theories and methods from multiple disciplines including forestry, biology, ecology, silviculture, forest management, tourism, economics, ethnic culture studies, wood science and molecular biology. Its main research outcomes include: the classification, distribution and floristic geographic characteristics of Yunnan Bambusoideae; bamboo diversity, as well as the evaluation, collection and conservation of rare and endemic germplasm resources; research, utilization, demonstration and popularization of important economic bamboo species; damage of bamboo wood caused by insect pests and mildew and their comprehensive protection technologies; research on germplasm resources and genetic diversity of important bamboo species via RAPD; and functional genetic engineering studies on key traits of bamboo, among others.
1. Originality and Persistence: This is the first comprehensive survey and research on Yunnan Bambusoideae species and the development and utilization of large clumping bamboos. The research lasted over 60 years, spanning two centuries. Initiated by Professor Xue Jiru, a renowned bamboo scientist and the pioneer and founding father of bamboo research in Yunnan, this work was collaboratively completed by four generations of bamboo researchers, with some researchers even sacrificing their precious lives for this project.
2. Comprehensiveness and Integrity: Leveraging multi-disciplinary theories and methods across forestry, biology, ecology, silviculture, forest management, tourism, economics, ethnic culture studies, wood science and molecular biology, this study was conducted from multiple dimensions including gene, molecular, individual, population, community, ecosystem, landscape and cultural aspects, systematically and comprehensively acquiring basic information of Bambusoideae species as well as protection and utilization methods for some bamboo species.
3. Leadership and Practicality: This study elevated the research level of clumping bamboos to the international leading position, drastically narrowing the research gap between clumping bamboos and scattered bamboos by leaps and bounds. The research on development and utilization of large clumping bamboos has greatly boosted local economic development and provided technical guarantees for increasing farmers' income.
