Phytopathogenic fungi are a major cause of plant diseases and are responsible for large-scale harvest failure in the peanut monoculture system. However, practical change rules of phytopathogenic fungal communities along with the peanut mono-cultivation chronosequence remained unclear. In this study, rhizosphere soils from four peanut fields in Jiangxi province of China with differing peanut monoculture length were compared in later reproductive stage in 2017: peanut monoculture for 1 year (CK), 4 years (P4), 10 years (P10) and 20 years (P20). Illumina sequencing of fungal ITS rRNA genes and an annotation tool for parsing fungal community datasets (FUNGuild) that can simultaneously and accurately identify guilds of many fungi were used in this study.
