120 Domain-Specific Languages for Security (Supplementary Material)

This is the supplementary material for our survey of 120 security DSLs, published in the ACM Computing Surveys. It includes the Python script for collecting papers and a spreadsheet containing the papers considered in the different phases of the review, the raw labels of the security DSLs studied, the categorizations of the labels, and the statistics over the identified categories.

The spreadsheet is structured into multiple sheets as follows:

Sampling process: Statistics of the sampling process

Papers: Details of the papers identified in the initial search, and the decision of whether to keep them for full review in column I

Papers-backward: The papers identified by one round of backward snowballing, and the decision of whether to keep them for full review in column I

DSLs: Detailed labeling of all identified DSLs, including free-text labels and categorizations.

Statistics: Statistics over the DSLs based on the categories identified per studied aspect

Statistics per cat: Statistics over the identified aspects in relation to the security categories identified

Correlations: Correlations between different aspects studied

Venues: A categorization of the venues at which the studied papers have been published

Phases: A visualization of the phases relevant to the security DSLs studied
