This project focused on the 1.6-0.2 ?m size fraction planktonic microbial ecosystem in the temperate coastal region of Sanriku area, Japan. Sampling stations were located along the two transect lines from the inner part of the Otsuchi Bay (OT) and Onagawa Bay (ON) to each offshore. Surface (0m) seawater metatranscriptomics were analyzed by Illumina Hi-seq 2000 (paired-end).
