Dataset – Andiroba Density as a Function of Distance from the Amazon River (APA Fazendinha, Brazil)

This dataset contains information used to analyze the relationship between adult andiroba (Carapa spp.) density and distance from the Amazon River margin, in the Environmental Protection Area (APA) of Fazendinha, Macapá, Amapá State, Brazil. The dataset supports the study published in: Abreu et al. (2014), Ciência Florestal, v.24, n.4, p.1009–1019. The study area covers 136.59 ha, where 680 andiroba trees (CBH ≥ 15 cm) were inventoried and georeferenced. The dataset includes: Plot identification Mean distance from plot to the Amazon River (m) Adult tree density (trees ha⁻¹) These data were used to fit a simple linear regression model showing that adult tree density increases with river distance (R = 0.80; p = 0.00018). Important methodological note:Plot 6.1 was artificially inserted as an outlier for subsequent methodological experimentation, particularly for studies involving robust estimation techniques and outlier detection methods. This observation does not represent real field measurements and should be considered only for robustness analysis.
