ReCHAR database - spatial distribution of relict charcoal hearths across Poland

This dataset comprises shapefile layers of relict charcoal hearths (RCHs) in Poland, manually identified using high-resolution LiDAR data. It contains two vector layers: location_RCH – a point layer representing the locations of 634,815 identified RCHs, without additional attributes. relict_charcoal_hearths – a point layer containing detailed attribute information for each RCH point, including: SIZE: estimated size of the hearth (in meters), LATITUDE – geographical latitude (in decimal degrees), LONGITUDE – geographical longitude (in decimal degrees), CLC2018: land cover class based on the CORINE Land Cover 2018 dataset, level 3, VEG_POT: potential natural vegetation type, SOIL_WRB: soil classification based on the World Reference Base for Soil Resources, SOIL_FAO85: soil classification based on the FAO85 system, ALTITUDE: elevation above sea level (in meters), SLOPE_DEG: slope (in degrees), NEAR_CHAR: distance to the nearest other RCH (in meters), NEAR_WATER: distance to the nearest water body (in meters), WATER_TYPE: type of the nearest water body (only lakes and rivers).
