High-frequency conjugative mobilization system in community-associated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus CA-MRSA/J. Staphylococcus aureus strain:multi-strains

Community-associated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus CA-MRSA/J is a local clone with ST8/SCCmecIV, emerged in Japan with a case of death from a strongly invasive pathotype. CA-MRSA/J has unique genetic features, such as SCCmecIVl carrying a large, variable cell wall-anchored protein encoding the spj gene, as a key feature. In addition, CA-MRSA/J exhibits the phenomenon of staphylococcal interbacterial aggregate and net structures (SIAN). In this project, we report a high-frequency conjugative mobilization system of CA-MRSA/J virulence plasmids.
