The interplay between gestational diabetes and multi-omics at different pregnancy stages and following dietary intervention

In this study, we examine microbiome dynamics in two body sites among pregnant woman in a longitudinal manner. Salivary and fecal samples were collected in the first, second, and third trimesters of pregnancy from women without a gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) diagnosis and from those that were diagnosed with GDM in the second trimester. In addition to tracking microbial community dynamics between the groups and throughout pregnancy, we also examine how diet intervention affects the microbiota of women diagnosed with GDM.
