The Latin American Legislators Dataset

The Latin American Legislators Dataset is a large data collection effort striving to contain data on all elected legislators in the 18 Latin American countries with competitive elections since 1978 or transition to democracy. It currently includes data on both lower and upper chambers in bicameral parliaments, as well as unicameral parliaments, and currently comprises 31,724 observations of 21,807 unique legislators in 259 elections. The main advantage of the dataset lies in its utilization for the study of parliamentary elites, its gendered dimensions, and district magnitude and its changes in the region.
