Samples were collected from the intestinal cecum of mice, one week after feeding with probiotic LAB strains including Lacticaseibacillus casei ATCC 393, Lactiplantibacillus plantarum WCSF1, Ligilactobacillus salivarius ATCC 11741, Limosilactobacillus fermentum ATCC 11741, Lactococcus lactis subsp. cremoris NZ9000 and Leuconostoc mesenteroides subsp. mesenteroides ATCC 8293. Samples were also collected from control group of no probiotic supplementation. Subsequent microbiome sequencing revealed significantly higher amounts of corresponding LAB in the probiotic-fed mice compared to that of the control, indicating their persistence in the gut environment during their administration.
