RNA-based Fusion Gene Analysis of Adenomatous Goiter using Next Generation Sequencing

Thyroid disorder is the most common endocrine disorder worldwide. Adenomatous goiter is a benign condition but can mimic or progress to papillary thyroid carcinoma. However, stepwise tumor progression from hyperplasia through neoplasia to frank thyroid carcinoma needs to be elucidated. There is a paucity of data on gene rearrangements in adenomatous goiter. Hence, RNA-based fusion gene analysis of adenomatous hyperplasia will lead to a better understanding of molecular biology.
