eDNA dataset: The trajectory of tree death determines the fungal communities in Central Europe

This dataset contains raw paired-end Illumina sequencing reads from an eDNA metabarcoding study. All samples were pooled into a single forward (R1) and reverse (R2) FASTQ file. Individual samples can be separated based on primer sequences provided in "sample_barcodes.txt". No demultiplexing or quality filtering has been performed. Data were collected from 60 Picea abies logs and standing dead trees in 2021 at Boubín primeval forest National Nature Reserve (48.978°N, 13.809°E). Sample descriptions and metadata are provided in "metadata.xlsx". The dataset is associated with a manuscript in preparation that describes the study design, sampling, and analysis.
