PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a release paper base paper， that has few defects due to stains of papermaking system and has an excellent printability. SOLUTION: Provided is a release paper base paper， characterized in that the total contained amount of a monohydric straight chain alcohol (A) having a carbon number selected from the group consisting of carbon number of 24， 26 and 28， and a straight chain fatty acid (B) having a carbon number selected from the group consisting of carbon number of 24， 26 and 28 is 300 to 2000 mass ppm for the entire release paper base paper， the contained amount of a sizing agent is 0.1 mass% or less for the mass in solid content conversion of all pulps constituting the release paper base paper， and the Canada standard freeness of disaggregated pulp obtained by disaggregation by the pulp disaggregation method described in JIS P 8220:2012 and measured in accordance to JIS P 8121:2012 is 200 to 450 mL.
