Dataset of benign androgen-producing adrenal tumours in adults: a systematic review of case reports and case series

This dataset contains individual-level data extracted from 97 cases of benign androgen-producing adrenal tumours in adults, identified through a systematic review of the literature from 1980 to 2024. Each row corresponds to a single patient, with information on demographics, clinical signs of hyperandrogenism, hormonal measurements (including total testosterone, DHEAS, androstenedione, urinary 17-ketosteroids), dynamic test results, imaging findings, tumour characteristics, and histopathology. The second sheet provides a detailed definition of variables used. All data were manually extracted from published case reports and small case series that met strict inclusion criteria: histological confirmation of a benign adrenal tumour, biochemical evidence of androgen excess with postoperative normalization, and availability of individual case data.
