Material, structural, and geometrical data of the ovipositor

The archive contains two files: a Matlab data file and a plotting script. The data file contains the three-point bending measurements of the ovipositor and its individual valves, namely: (i) raw force measurements and fits, (ii) the extracted forces for each deflection and fitted curves to these force-deflection data, (iii) calculated bending stiffness (EI) and effective modulus of elasticity (E*). In addition, the file contains binary images of calculated minimal cross-sections of the distal end of the ovipositor obtained from high resolution microCT scans. The structure of the arrays is described within the file. The Matlab plotting script plots Figure 8 of the article, different stages of data analysis, and segmented cross-sections of the ovipositor.
