Valeriana umbellifera (Caprifoliaceae): a new saxicolous species endemic to the mountains of Central Chile

During botanical surveys conducted in mountainous areas of central Chile (Putaendo, Chache and Poqui), specimens of a Valeriana growing exclusively in crevices of steep, rocky walls were found. Examination of herbarium material and relevant literature confirmed that it represents a previously undescribed species, named in this study as Valeriana umbellifera. The phylogenetic position of this novel species was investigated using two cpDNA loci, trnK-matK and trnL-F regions, within the framework of previous analyses of Southern Andean Valeriana Bell et al. (2012). Here, we provide access to the concatenated alignment, partition file, best maximum likelihood tree, bootstrap trees, and log file of the analysis performed in RAxML-NG v.1.1.0 (Kozlov et al. 2019).
