Money management behaviour in digital era
收藏资源简介:
ABSTRACT The present study examines the money management behaviour of college students in the digital era, focusing on the impact of digital payment systems, online shopping platforms, social media influence, and changing consumer lifestyles on financial decision-making. The study aims to understand students’ spending habits, saving behaviour, budgeting practices, financial discipline, and the role of technology in shaping their financial activities. Primary data was collected from 59 college students through a structured questionnaire using Google Forms. The study adopts a descriptive research design and uses percentage analysis for data interpretation. The findings reveal that digital payment applications and online shopping platforms have significantly increased convenience and accessibility, leading to more frequent spending among students. Social media platforms, particularly Instagram and YouTube, also play a major role in influencing purchasing decisions and impulsive buying behaviour. The study further highlights that while students are aware of the importance of budgeting and savings, many struggle to maintain consistent financial discipline due to convenience-driven spending and lifestyle-oriented consumption. The results indicate a growing need for financial literacy and money management awareness among young consumers. The research concludes that digital technology has transformed student financial behaviour by creating both opportunities and challenges. Therefore, promoting financial education, budgeting habits, responsible spending, and savings awareness is essential for ensuring long-term financial well-being among students in the digital age.
