The vaginal microbiota is essential for women's health, yet its genomic diversity and host relevance remains incompletely characterized. Here we established a large non-Western cohort titled "Peacock," comprising 10,237 metagenomes from Chinese individuals. We also integrated publicly available metagenomic datasets and isolated genomes, along with in-house isolated genomes, to construct a comprehensive catalog of vaginal metagenome-assembled genomes (VMG).
