Rehabilitation of Threatened Vegetation Communities in Fairfield Local Government Area Project 1

The Green Army will focus on rehabilitating no-mow zones within the Fairfield Local Government Area. The areas form part of the critically endangered plant community, Cumberland Plain Woodland. The areas contain remnant grasslands with remnant canopy species and some shrubs within the stratum. This project aims to: enhance the regeneration of all levels of strata within each of the no mow zones sites, through the removal of weeds species; monitor the sites through transacts and quadrats; protect and enhance biodiversity and ensure healthy and adaptive ecosystems while increasing the area, connectivity and condition of native vegetation; and provide participants with a comprehensive Conservation Land Management learning experience.
