Overview This feature service provides a detailed, parcel-based mapping of existing land use classifications for Tallahassee and Leon County, Florida, reflecting conditions as of November 2025. The data is designed to support planning and development activities by illustrating current land use patterns across the county. The Existing Land Use Map was developed by the Tallahassee-Leon County Planning Department in the 1970s and has been updated annually since 2005 to reflect changes in current land use. Feature Layer Existing Land Use 2025: This primary layer contains parcel-level land use information, including residential building counts, residential units, and various land use patterns. Each parcel is assigned a single land use category, encompassing a broad spectrum of types such as Single-Family Detached, Multi-Family, Retail, Office, Government Operations, Schools, Open Space, and more. The layer includes coded values to describe finer land use distinctions ("patterns") to enhance understanding of development types and uses. Additional fields capture comments, effective dates, and parcel metrics such as area and perimeter to support spatial analysis.
