Daily ocean bottom pressure anomalies 2007-2011 from global simulations at coarse and high horizontal resolution
收藏资源简介:
Data supplement for manuscript "Modeling ocean-induced rapid Earth rotation variations: an update" by Alexander Harker, Michael Schindelegger, Rui Ponte, David Salstein, Journal of Geodesy , 95, 110, https://doi.org/10.1007/s00190-021-01555-z. Contents: Daily ocean bottom pressure anomalies over 2007-2011 obtained from global forward simulations using the MITgcm (Massachusetts Institute of Technology general circulation model) in two very distinct horizontal grid configurations (LLC90 and LLC540). The setup of the model runs, i.e., code customization and parameter choices, are aligned with the hierarchy of LLC simulations: https://github.com/MITgcm-contrib/llc_hires. Dissipative closures and mixing schemes are nearly identical in the two runs. Hence, differences in bottom pressure mainly reflect the effect of different horizontal resolution: MITgcm LLC90 (Massachusetts Institute of Technology general circulation model, Lat-Lon-Cap 90): nominal 1° horizontal grid spacing, 50 vertical layers MITgcm LLC540 (Lat-Lon-Cap 540): nominal 1/6° horizontal grid spacing, 50 vertical layers General specifications: Yearly files (yyyy) for each model run (e.g., LLC540_OBP_n180_yyyy.nc) Temporal mean 2007-2011 reduced Daily fields centered at 12 UTC Units: cm of equivalent water height Data given on regular 1° grid Synthesized from spherical harmonic expansion truncated at degree 180 (n180) Degree 1 terms: included Static atmospheric contribution to bottom pressure: excluded Atmospheric forcing: ERA-Interim (6-hourly) Note: Note: A related dataset of daily bottom pressure anomalies (2007-2009) from LLC270 and a shallow-water model is available on https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.4293426.
