Older Residents of Augsburg (Residents of Homes)

Life surroundings and situation in life of residents of institutions of
closed aid for the old.

Topics: The content of this study is in large measure identical to the
content of ZA Study No. 1483, to the extent it deals with the
description of the general situation of older people.

The following questions were posed regarding the situation in homes:
location of the old people´s home in comparison with earlier residence;
attitude to an old people´s home in earlier residential surroundings;
length of residence in the home; housing situation in the old people´s
home; reasons for moving to the old people´s home as well as influence
of other persons on this decision; preference for remaining in personal
residence or lodging in home; judgement on the regulations on going out
and interest in longer stays away; characterization of situation in
life in the old people´s home (scale); receipt of welfare; attitude to
a common lunch for residents of the old people´s home and older
fellow-citizens from the vicinity of the home.

Demography: sex; year of birth; marital status; religious
denomination; school education; employment; composition of household;
memberships; occupation; occupation of spouse; housing situation;
income; previous place of residence and length of local residency;
possession of a telephone.
