Identification of immune genes under positive selection in birds

Using transcriptomic and genomic data, in this project, we aim to identify immune genes under positive selection in birds. We would like to also compare the strength of positive selection in immune genes based on their functional characterization and cellular localization. For the transcriptomic part, we collected ileum tissue samples from 6 parrot species 24 hours after the LPS administration. The RNA sequencing was done using Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) approach: mRNA-seq with NextSeq Illumina platform.
