Pine weevil bark feeding depletes root carbohydrates in Scots pine seedlings.

This dataset contains the raw data collected during an experiment investigating systemic physiological responses of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) seedlings to bark feeding by the large pine weevil (Hylobius abietis L.). The experiment compared beetle-damaged and undamaged (control) seedlings originating from two local Scots pine provenances representing contrasting ecological strategies. Feeding damage was quantified, and physiological responses were evaluated by measuring soluble carbohydrates in roots and needles, phenolic compounds in needles, and metabolomic profiles of both volatile and non-volatile compounds. The dataset also includes seedling characteristics and provenance information used in the statistical analyses presented in the associated manuscript.
