Figure 1 FACS quantification of AX3 G+ or G- cells following induction of cell type markers in low-density differentiation assay (related to Figures 2C and 3C). AX3 cells were co-transformed with pspA-GFP and ecmAO-RFP (A, D), ecmB-GFP and ecmAO-RFP (B, E), or ecmB-GFP and pspA-RFP (C, F) cell type specific reporters. The percentage of cells expressing each reporter gene was quantified by FACS after growth in G+ (A-C) or G- medium (D-F). Figure 2 qPCR verification of rrgA and rigA expression (related to Figure 6B). rrgA shows higher expression in gefE- cells, and rigA shows higher expression in wild type cells.
